Thai Honda, the manufacturer and distributor of Honda motorcycles, launches new Honda UC3, the first plug-in electric motorcycle, to be sold directly to end users for the first time in the Thai market.
The launch of Honda UC3 marks a significant milestone for Honda in Thailand’s motorcycle market. It is not the first plug-in electric motorcycle to be sold directly to end users but also makes its world-first launch in Thailand. Honda UC3 is also among 11 new Honda motorcycle models to be launched to the market this year.
New Honda UC3 is designed to meet the everyday mobility needs of urban riders. It is powered by an electric motor with a maximum output of 6 kWh, working with an LFP battery certified to UNR136 standards, delivering a maximum range of 122 kilometers per charge and a top speed of 80 km/h.
It offers three riding modes—Econ, Standard, and Sport—and features a Reverse Assist Function for easier reversing. The model also stands out with a modern design, LED headlight with an integrated light bar, a 5-inch TFT display, and Honda RoadSync support. Convenience features include Honda SMART Key, a USB Type-C charging port.
“Thailand is the first country to begin sales of Honda UC3 under the concept “The Urban First Movers,” reflecting Thailand’s role as one of Honda’s leading markets and global production bases,” Daiki Mihara, executive officer of Honda Motor Co, said.
“For many years, Honda has been dedicated to supporting people’s lifestyles around the world. This has enabled us to deliver the ‘joy and freedom of mobility,’ strengthening our position as the world’s No. 1 motorcycle brand with over 40% global market share,” he said.
This fiscal year, Honda anticipate sales to reach as high as 21 million units, supported by a proactive strategy to capture growth in the global market, which is expected to reach 60 million units by 2030.

“With a strong commitment to delivering products that genuinely satisfy customers, we are well positioned to seize opportunities arising from the steady growth in motorcycle demand. Over the long term, Honda has set a clear goal: one in every two people will be a Honda motorcycle user, across both ICE (internal combustion engine) and EV (electric vehicle) models, to truly meet the diverse needs of consumers worldwide.”
Honda is ready to accelerate the expansion of our electric motorcycle product portfolio to respond to changing consumer demand,” Mr Mihara said.
He adds that Honda is committed to building confidence in electric motorcycle usage by accelerating the development of a widely available and easily accessible charging infrastructure.
At the same time, Honda reaffirms its commitment to keeping Thailand as a key production base, even as EV adoption grows, to create jobs, strengthen the industrial foundation, and help drive sustainable economic growth alongside Thai society, backed by the quality and trust we have built over many years.
Yuichi Shimizu, president of Thai Honda Co, said that Thai Honda places strong emphasis on continuously developing products, services, and technology to support the diverse everyday needs of users.
“Thailand is one of Honda’s key strategic markets in Asia and a major hub for the regional motorcycle business,” Mr Shimizu said.
In 2025, Thailand’s overall motorcycle market totaled 1.73 million units. Thai Honda delivered strong results, with sales exceeding 1.40 million units, growing to 101% compared with the previous year, and continued to hold the No. 1 position in Thailand’s motorcycle market for the 37th consecutive year.
“For 2026, competition will intensify, but we are fully prepared to adapt our strategy to keep pace with change. Thai Honda forecasts the total motorcycle market at 1.68–1.73 million units, and we have set a sales target of 1.36–1.40 million units,” he said.
In addition, Thai Honda has launched Thailand’s first Honda EV Charger at CentralWorld and plans to expand to more than 230 stations including at Lotus’s within this year, with an additional 800 stations to be rolled out by 2029.
