Don Don Donki to debut at Central Westgate

Donki Thailand has officially launched its 8th branch at Central Department Store zone, Central Westgate, cashing in on the strong demand and purchasing power in Bangkok’s western area.

Don Don Donki at Central Westgate has opened for full operations since September 9. This marks the 8th branch in Thailand and the first in Nonthaburi, serving as a new shopping magnet that delivers a complete retail experience, catering to the strong demand and purchasing power in Bangkok’s western area.

This launch reinforces PPIH Group’s business expansion strategy in Southeast Asia while elevating the Don Don Donki brand image as a “Japan Specialty Store” with the concept of “Delicious, Cute, and Fun,”. The stores offers a unique experience for consumers of all ages, showcasing Japanese culture in Thailand.

The move reinforces Central Westgate as a destination that brings together top brands to meet every lifestyle, the store offers a complete eat-shop-play experience. This further underscores the store potential as a super regional mall and a true hub of western Bangkok, reaching over 15 million potential customers.

Don Don Donki at Central Westgate is strategically located at the heart of a bustling suburban hub, particularly within the Central Westgate Department Store zone. As a destination designed to inspire every moment of life, it brings together leading brands and services that cater to the lifestyles of young people and families alike.

The store offers products and menu items that blend Japanese culture with Thai tastes, establishing itself as a new go-to destination for delicious food, fun, and lifestyle experiences.

Currently, there are eight Donki stores in Thailand including at Seacon Srinakarin, Bangkhae, Thaniya (Silom) Fashion Island Ramintra, MBK, Thonglor and J Park Sriracha and the latest store at CentralWestgate.  Donki has retail space of 800-2,000 square metres.

Donki continues to open its store in Thailand because its brand is well recognized among Thais because a big number of Thais have travelled to Japan annually and enjoyed shopping sprees there.

Don Don Donki at Central Westgate was opened on the ground floor with 1,600 square metres, aiming to capture Thai customers.

Donki has expanded its business to Asia with its first opening in Singapore 8 years ago. In Thailand, the first Don Don Donki is opened in Thonglor Soi 10. In addition to Thailand, it has operations in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia and Macao.

The best-selling items are Japanese sweet potato, seasonal fruit and cheese stick.

Donki Thailand is the joint venture between Saha Group, TOA Group and Don Don Donki, holding stake 18%, 18% and 64% respectively.
